1. Peggy’s Point Lighthouse
Perched atop giant rocks worn smooth by the sea stands Peggy’s Point Lighthouse, built in 1915,
There is a parking lot near the lighthouse and you can drive almost right up to it if needed.
2. Peggy’s Cove
This is the iconic and photographed inlet where you find dainty yet rugged colorful wooden houses perched upon stilts at the water’s edge.
There are a few Bed & Breakfast locations overlooking Peggy’s Cove and majestic Peggy’s Point Lighthouse.
Lobster pots and fishing nets line the streets and they are so picturesque.
3. William E. deGarthe Memorial Monument
This monument to Nova Scotia fishermen, is carved on site from granite. The sculpture depicts thirty-two fishermen, their wives and children. All of them are enveloped by the wings of the guardian angel St. Elmo. It also features the image of Peggy, a legendary shipwreck survivor, after whom the village is believed to have been named.

4. Eat Lobster, Fish & Chips and Homemade Ice-cream
The Sou’Wester is a family owned and run restaurant offering traditional meals and delicious seafood.
The two level gift-shop attached to the restaurant has one of the largest giftware selections in the Maritimes. They also have washrooms that are open to the public.
Stop by Beales’ Bailiwick and have an Espresso and fresh baked treats on their deck overlooking Peggy’s Cove. Shop unique fashion, art and craft from Nova Scotia and across Canada.
Eat homemade ice-cream and lobster rolls at Dee Dee’s, just across from Peggy’s Cove.
5. Swissair Flight 111 Memorial Monument
“They have been joined to the sea and the sky, May they rest in peace”. These are the words etched on the stone memorial monument to the passengers and crew of Swissair Flight 111. A short walking trail (160 m) leads to the monument.
