This resort had among the friendliest, caring, and courteous staff we have come across. Our stay here was a pleasure and very memorable experience. 82-kms from Kuala Lumpur City (40-kms from the airport).

315 overwater chalets in various sizes and styles. They extend out into the sea from the beach in the shape of a palm tree. You have a choice of sea-facing or beach-facing chalets. The sea-facing are better (little costlier) cause you get that feeling of freedom, just the sea and the horizon.

We told them we were celebrating a special occasion and they took extra-special care of us. Sunsets are truly spectacular here.

Sunrises can be breathtaking too, but a sea-sunrise is seasonal and from the outermost chalets only.

There is an infinity pool with plenty of sun-tanning beds. Also, a well equipped gym and plenty of recreational activities available at the resort. A gift shop/boutique where you can purchase an extra bikini perhaps.

You can dine in any of their five restaurants or grab a snack in their “Pantry” Deli. Room-service is available as well. Sepoi Sepoi restaurant is very cosy. There is a sheltered dining area, an air-conditioned dining area and an al fresco area with a beachfront.

At night, there are Performances on their private beach. We got to see a Fire-show that was quite impressive and entertaining.

2. Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson (Modern Design)

A very big and modern resort. 111-kms from Kuala Lumpur City (68-kms from the airport). Extremely luxurious but very impersonal for my liking. It Is family friendly but fails to give you that cozy, “got-far-away” feeling.

522 overwater villas each with its own swimming pool, steam room and glass panel on the floor to view the marine life below.

Due to the location of the resort, it isn’t possible to get a sea-sunset or sunrise. However, there are sunset cruises available and also helicopter rides over the resort.

The Hibiscus Walk is adjacent to the beach within the resort complex. Comprising of food outlets offering various local cuisines, desserts, health shacks and a bar, it is a treat. There also is a sheltered beach that is pretty safe for kids (under supervision).

There is a decent choice of dining outlets and bars with a high quality of food. The cakes and pastries are freshly baked and excellent. Coralz is a Bistro, tastefully decorated and offers live-music for entertainment.

For kids, there is a Games Room, Kids World, and a section offering mini carnival rides. For adults, there are bicycles, Segways, electric scooters for rent.

  • If you are a young family, Lexis Hibiscus is definitely for you.
  • Before booking, call the resort of your choice to find out what promotions are going on.
  • Call at least 30-minutes in advance if you require a buggy pick-up from your chalet.
  • Try to avoid Room-Service for meals, the restaurants are less expensive and a better dining experience.
